The Lower Middle Market is the Place to Be
Last year we launched an on-going sub-section called "Aren't You Glad You're in the Middle Market?!" to highlight the fact that the middle market, especially in the Midwest, is truly the steam engine that drives the M&A market.
Well, maybe we were slightly off: Maybe we should have titled our new section "Aren't You Glad You're in the Lower Middle Market?!"
Why? Well, according to data from Robert W. Baird & Co. and Thomson Financial, 3,076 out of 4,134 US middle-market deals in 2007 were valued below $100 million.
