Mid Oaks Investments LLC announced that it has invested in and merged two of North America's leading folding carton specialty businesses that focus on the cosmetic and healthcare industries.
With the financial assistance of Mid Oaks, Bellshire Limited and Van Wyck Packaging Limited have merged into one company, Bellwyck Packaging Inc. Mid Oaks formed Bellwyck Packaging in order to create a platform business focused on serving the special needs of its target markets. Bellwyck's state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained staff are capable of meeting the most discriminating needs of its customers. With Mid Oak's support, Bellwyck will have the financial ability to broaden its suite of services, expand capacity and acquire strategic businesses.
"This acquisition typifies the Mid Oaks' strategy of searching for up-and-coming companies with strong management teams in which to apply our successful investment philosophies," said Michael Kocourek, Mid Oaks' managing director.
Bellwyck is managed by co-chief executive officers who had been members of the previous ownership and who have reinvested in the new company. It is headquartered in Toronto.
This investment is the fourth packaging business in the Mid Oaks portfolio. The others are a food and consumer products blow molding business, a thermoforming food packaging business and a business that manufactures pharmaceutical bottle filling machines.
The former Bellshire Limited was founded in 1972 and the former Van Wyck began in 1916. For more information on Bellwyck, visit www.midoaks.com.
